Five phases from first call to production

Each phase has a defined scope, a set of activities, and a set of deliverables. Nothing moves forward without your sign-off.

Phase 01
Discovery
1–2 weeks
We learn your product, business goals, technical constraints, team dynamics, and definition of success before proposing anything. A project that starts with wrong assumptions ships the wrong thing.

Phase 03
Build
4–24 weeks (project-dependent)
Senior engineers deliver production-ready software through iterative two-week sprints. You have visibility into every task. You test every increment. Nothing ships until you've seen it.
Activities
- Two-week sprint cycles with sprint planning and retrospectives
- Daily standups and async updates in your channels
- Continuous integration and automated test suite growth
- Weekly stakeholder demos of working software
- Progressive code review by your engineers (if desired)
Deliverables
- Working software increments every sprint
- Growing automated test suite (unit, integration, E2E)
- Sprint reports and velocity data
- Living technical documentation
Phase 04
Launch
1–2 weeks
Going live is a planned event, not a moment of hope. We use staged deployments, feature flags, observability, and documented rollback procedures so that production incidents are manageable, not catastrophic.
Activities
- Staged deployment to pre-production environment
- Load testing and performance validation
- Security penetration testing (or third-party audit facilitation)
- Observability setup — dashboards, alerts, and runbooks
- Production cutover with documented rollback plan
Deliverables
- Deployed, monitored production system
- Observability dashboard and alert configuration
- Operations runbook
- Security audit report
- Launch checklist sign-off
Phase 05
Optimize
Ongoing or time-boxed
The work doesn't end at launch. Real users surface real problems. We continue iterating on performance, reliability, and new features — either on retainer or through a planned handoff to your team.

- Production monitoring and incident response
- Performance profiling and optimization
- Feature iteration based on user feedback
- Knowledge transfer to your engineering team
- Documentation and runbook finalisation

Process is only as good as the principles it enforces. These are non-negotiable on every engagement.

Production-first thinking
Every decision is evaluated against how it behaves in production under load, at 2am, when something goes wrong. Development convenience is never a valid reason to compromise operational reliability.
Tests are part of delivery
Untested code is not done. Our definition of done includes unit tests, integration tests, and E2E coverage for critical paths. We do not ship test debt.
No surprise engineering
Scope changes, blockers, and technical risks are surfaced immediately — not at the end of a sprint. We'd rather deliver bad news early when it's actionable than late when it's a crisis.
Senior ownership on every engagement
Every project has a named senior engineer who is accountable for the technical outcome. We don't staff projects with juniors supervised by seniors who are too busy to review the work.
Security by design
Authentication, authorisation, input validation, and secret management are architectural decisions, not features added in the last sprint. We bake them in at the design phase.
Documentation ships with code
Architecture decisions are recorded. APIs are documented. Runbooks are written before launch. We leave systems in a state where your team can operate them confidently without us.
